After doing a 100-hour project and feeling very tired, my group and I, with our leader, Mrs Francesca Curṛ, finally left Sicily and went to Wales. We arrived at Colwyn Bay station where our host families collected us. I stayed in Llandudno with two friends of mine, Mirko and Francesco. Our host family were very good. Bryn and Joy Terry gave us everything we needed. They were kind and helpful and they also had a son, called Callum, who livened up our days. So, Mirko, Francesco and I really felt at home. Llandudno, the place where we stayed, was very nice. It was on the sea and there we met many friendly people and made friends who played soccer and basketball with us.

During the first part of the trip, all the group went to school to do lessons in which we were told about the trips to Manchester, Chester and Liverpool, that we were going to go on. These lessons were very nice and our teachers very likeable. At the school my group and I also met some other students from Italy who went to Liverpool and Manchester with us.

After a week, it was time to start work. I worked at Slaters, a motor business that is well-known in Wales and in England. There I worked in the marketing department: I filed customers’ details on the computer and I printed and sent letters and postcards to customers. I felt very content at Slaters and I think that my boss and my colleagues were happy with me too. On the last couple of days of our trip we stayed in London.

London is a beautiful place and I really enjoyed myself there. My group and I visited the National Gallery, the British Museum, the Tower of London, Madam Tussauds and Buckingham Palace. We went to Greenwich, too. I had the most beautiful experience when I got wonderful view of London from a cabin on the London Eye.

For me, this was a great trip, and I enjoyed myself a lot with my friends and my group leader.

I hope that I can have the same experience in the future.
