This morning, at work, I began to receive tips from some old ladies. Now I understand how to act to get money.
Today two old ladies told me that I was a very good-looking boy and left me £1.00.
After a few minutes the same thing happened.
On my last day at work I realized that it would be my last time with my colleagues and so I took pictures with them, especially Betty. She was my teacher. Thanks to her I learnt a lot of words. She was very nice. The same with Linh.
After dinner we went to a pub – the Palladium to watch a football match (Italy-Ukraine 3-0). But we were chucked out by the bouncers at 9 because in our group some of us were underage.
Britain: a dream became reality.
A wonderful country where I finished my project with the work placement. I don’t think there is an easier way to learn the English language so quickly.
Living in a host family can help you to improve your English but I wasn’t so lucky. My host lady wasn’t friendly: I never had the long chats that I had dreamed of. Nevertheless I had good conversations during my work experience.
I found sociable coworkers, especially one: Betty. She became my teacher. Thanks to her I learnt a lot of words. I enjoyed working with her because we joked a lot.
I wasn’t disappointed with the work given to me.
The restaurant was easy to reach and near the main shops of the town. Every morning before working I enjoyed going shopping. There isn’t a better way than that to begin the day!
In addition, the owner was a very good person. His wife even cried when I left!
I loved working there because I had lots of contact with customers.
I talked to them. They were mainly old ladies but they were so friendly and kind that it was a pleasure waiting on them (and I loved it when they left me a tip!!).
