About my first work experience in Wales
CONLAN
Conlan was the school where we studied during the first days. It was a very nice place with clean toilets and internet points. There we met two teachers, and we enjoyed ourselves in particular with John walking around Abergele and visiting important cities like Chester, Liverpool and so on. Abergele was the town where Conlan was situated and where some of us had to work.
FAMILY
The family that Lucy and I stayed with was just a lady. She was very nice but very dirty. In fact she lived with a dog and a cat that kept losing their fur and we found animal hairs everywhere. The food wasn’t good because to save money the lady bought food past its sell-by date. She also kept crisps and other sweets in the kitchen but she didn’t give us any of these, and because we were hungry we went down to steal something to eat at night.
WORK
I worked in a health food natural shop where you can find special food for people that have some health problems and there were also beauty products on sale. The name of the shop was Nature’s way and it was managed by two ladies. There was also another lady who worked part-time. I enjoyed myself with them because they spoke to me a lot and they were very friendly. I worked for four hours and had an hour for lunch. I learned how to use the till and to deal with customers.
GROUP
I was very happy with the group. At the beginning I didn’t believe that I would enjoy being with them so much. We did many things together. I’d definitely do it again.
